More adventures in no poo.

Hellu!
I've been no poo (no schampoo (and also no other regular hair products)) for over 6 months now yey! This experience has given me a new perspective on my hair I think. I'm not really bothered if my hair is a bit dirty like I was before. I don't know if it's cus I think that it's only natural and means my hair is healthy.. Anyways, care free days! ;) Everyone should love their hair. So here's to (no poo!) hair love!

Another thing I've been doing since I went no poo is deep conditioners. I just mix some random oils and apply it to the lengths of my hair.

Then I put my hair in a pair of old stockings (so I don't get oil on my clothes) and let it sit for a couple of hours and then wash my hair the regular way (olive soap + apple cider vinegar).

Last time I did it I used my body butter. It worked really well and wasn't as messy as the regular oils :) So I'll probably just be using this one from now on.

I also realised how hard it is to photograph your own hair. But I like to have some comparative pics so here's one anyways. Oh and I liked it so I put a ring on it! ;)

I've also made my own hair spray using this tutorial which worked great. I made it for my chola outfit lol. Otherwise I rarely use hair spray. I also "make" my own dry schampoo using corn starch :) No poo ftw!

Subtle blue.

Hellu!
Time for some really subtle nails.

The creme polish is Barry M - Cyan Blue, then I added hole reinforcers and Color Club - Emerald Depths + SV. I didn't think it would turn out this subtle, in some angles it was hardly visible :S But pretty colors anyways!

Day of DIY # 41. Whittling.

Hellu!
Here's something the bf and I DIYd a couple of weeks ago on a whittling class we took an evening :) This will be my contribution to this weeks Husmorsskolans Syförening :) Crafting is crafting!

The bf made the one the left and I made the other one. We put them with our yukka plant.

Mine looked a bit different from another angle.

This one was the coolest and most whittled of the two :P My hands grew really tired and achy after a while. Good thing the bf has strong hands :)

It was fun trying out whittling but it's not really for me. I like dealing with soft stuff (that you can craft in the sofa... Lol :)). Like yarn! :) It was cool to see the bf crafting away tho. In the future when we have an awesome farm somewhere we shall have to have a wood shop room ;D

Day of DIY # 40. Baby booties.

Hellu!
Here's something I made for my niece lil G a couple of weeks ago. They were visiting and I finished them at my moms place so I didn't photograph them. My sister sent me some pics tho! :)

Here she is dancing away so they're a bit blurry :P Knitted with sock yarn and size 3 needles.

My mom gave me the pattern and here's a link. It was a nice pattern so I'll probably make more! They are really cute :)

Day of DIY # 39. Body butter.

Hellu!
Like I've mentioned in previous posts (here and here) I try to use as little chemicals and weird stuff as I can (except you know, for polish..). Anyways, I've been meaning to expand these things to more areas. I started looking at what I use and if I could make it myself instead. I bring you: body butter! :) I got the idea from this recipe. I didn't follow it exactly tho.

I bought some stuff from this site. Ordered on a sunday and got the package the following tuesday so they were really fast :) For this body butter I used shea butter (from the site), coconut oil and rapeseed oil.

Melt the solid oils with the liquid. Seems vattenbad is called double boiling in english..? Anways, do that :p

Then I put it on the balcony for an hour or so to cool off and solidify (is that a word?) a bit.

Whip it until it's buttery and fluffy :)

Congratulations you have body butter!

I really like this body butter. I didn't use any fragrance so basically it's edible lol. Which means I use it on my lips as well. It has a faint coconut smell. It is a bit oily but that doesn't bother me, and it absorbs into the skin pretty quickly so. I will be making this again :)
Oh and the paper in the background is for some different green recipes :) I have a lot of products left to try and make!

Day of DIY # 38. Hönsestrikk.

Hellu!
It's time for Husmorsskolans Syförening again and this week I've got something I'm really really pleased with! This was one of those projects that sprung from a need. I needed something to warm an aching stomach. And what do you do when you need? Knit of course! Pic spam!

I decided to knit patterns and sought inspiration from this skirt I blogged about earlier.

I knit it in the round with a size three needle and wool from Klippans Yllefabrik.

First time cutting up something I've knitted! :) Blocketiblock.

Turned out it wasn't at all big enough so I knitted a wedge to fit. Crocheted button holes.

8 buttons, all thrifted.

From the back.

And an artsy shot :)

This was a real confidence boost knit woohoo! ;)
