Day of DIY # 4.

Hellu!
I've liked bracelets for a long time. My left wrist has only been completely naked for a couple of months in the last 8 years. I remember that summer making some bracelets at a friend's place. She taught me how to knot bracelets again since I had forgotten. Since then, I've always had something on there. Here are two bracelets that I made recently. Photos by bf.

I found this tutorial from HonestlyWTF (check it out, they have great DIYs!) I didn't have any really thick twine so I doubled some I bought at TGR. I got the hex nuts from the bf.

After that one I wanted to make another one with thicker twine so I made two braids and had one strand with two threads. I also made the hex nuts a bit more evenly spaced. These took me about 10-15 minutes to make :) I only need to find some better way to tie them since the bf can't always be around to tie them for me lol. The rainbow-bracelet in the background is also a DIY ;)

This pic is completely blurry and what not, but I found it and thought it fit in this post anyways. It was taken in 2005 or 2006 and it's what my left wrist looked like at the time. Since I thought it was fun to take a trip down Memory Lane, here are some other old pics I found of my bracelets. Enjoy ;p

Here's another blurry one for ya, from June 2007. That there in the background is my graduation dress that my mom made for me. It's awesome, I'm really sad I grew out of it...

July 2009.

January 2011. The red, white and black one was still going strong. I really liked that one. My mom bought it for me at the Fair Trade store.

December 2011. Enter rainbow.

Well there you have it. This post turned out longer than I had intended lol. But it was fun making it. I'm suddenly feeling the urge to make some new bracelets ;D And since I'm home with a cold I just might.

Gold and bling.

Hellu!
This is actually what I'm wearing right now. I was going to post some DIYs but those pics are in the bfs comp and since I'm going to work soon I'll post some nails instead! I really need to start blogging in the evening instead lol.

The gold is two coats of A England - Holy Grail. It's a really pretty gold. But I was concerned it might look weird on my skin with just the gold so I added some rhinestones and a coat of SV.

The rhinestones are much more glowy IRL but I couldn't capture that in the pics. You'll have to imagine it! ;)

Neon + crackle.

Hellu!
I like to use black crackle with bright colors.

One coat of Barry M - Nail Effects 311 over Color Club - Koo-Koo Cachoo + SV.

I hope you all had a nice Midsommar-weekend. Unfortunately I got a bit of a cold so I stayed home. But at least I had an extra day off to get better.

Glowing orange.

Hellu!
Glad Midsommar!
This is an old mani but I haven't done any midsommar-nails yet. It's bright and fun at least :)

This is two (I think) coats of Color Club - Koo-Koo Cachoo. I remember it to be of a pleasant formula. It's a really nice orange neon!

I like this pic because it shows some of the glowyness! :) Why don't I wear neons more often?

Stony black.

Hellu!
Here's a new (old) polish that I got as a gift :)

Two coats of Gosh - Flint. The brush had a really square top and the polish was a bit thick, but other than that I had no problem with application. And the thickness is probably because it's an old polish.

I like the old bottle :) It's a pretty almost black grey or greyish black, however you want to see it ;)

Thanks for commenting on my previous post and letting me know my blog is up again :) I'm going to try and have more posts up, I've got some brand new DIYs among other things. I just started working full time this week at my internship so I'm a bit tired. But at least this time around I get paid ;)

Issues.

Hellu!
Just wanted to ask if you're getting to this post or if I've got some malware issues still?
I tried looking at my blog in Explorer which seemed fine but I don't know if there's a difference on somebody else's computer. So if you can see this with no probs I'd be happy if you left a little comment.

Eigi víkja.

Hellu!
Today is the Icelandic National Day and since I'm also celebrating a very special woman today I decided to do some nail art to honor the occasion.

Yes, it's another striping tape and rhinestone mani :) The white is E.L.F. - White and the blue is China Glaze - First Mate. Some red rhinestones and Seche Vite to top it off!

Here's the flag that I made in Paint lol.

A bit messy since I'm too lazy to do clean up (oops). Anyways, I like it :)

Pink holo.

Hellu!
The other day I tried out another one of the Depend holos. Since holos usually need 2-3 coats (the blue one could've had three instead of the two I gave it) and the bottles are so tiny and expensive I wanted to find a good underwear polish for it.

Sunlight. This is one coat of Depend - 2027 Raspberry over one coat of Color Club - Hot Like Lava
Which turned out to be a perfect match :)

And here's what it looks like in the shade. It's not as holographic as the blue I showed you earlier but I'm still happy I got it :) It does have rainbows and a pretty sparkle!

Today me and the bf are going to a thrift store and then a farmers market that's in town for a day :)

More blue holo.

Hellu!
A couple of weeks ago I finally found the new holographic line from swedish brand Depend. Since they are really expensive (double the cost of the regular ones from the brand) I only bought one. I thought it was a pretty unusual holo color.

This is two coats of Depend - 2036 Ocean Green. They actually gave these names but not on the bottle (since it's too darn small!). The color is a greenish blue with lots of holo! Flash pic.

Lookit, it even shows rainbows in regular light :S Not to mention in the sunlight! Didn't get pics of that though before I went to my sister. Great vacation polish! :)

Buuut... Since it was so awesome I just had to buy three more :S These were also colors that I didn't think I had anything similar to. It's 2032 Denim Blue, 2027 Raspberry & 2030 Plum.

Can't wait to try them as well. Bring forth the sun!

Blue holo sparkles.

Hellu!
This will be the last scheduled post.

This is two coats of A England - Tristam. Perfect formula. Gah, it's pretty.

Definitely in my top 5. I wore this for 4 or 5 days and didn't get tired of it. Also, I noticed it's not the best polish for knitting/crocheting since I got distracted by it puuurdyness :D

Another orange creme.

Hellu!
This is the last polish that I got from G.

This is three coats of Gabrini - M 113. This one had a more troublesome formula. It felt like a pastel polish. But the color is really pretty! And the streakyness wasn't all that visible.

Here's a weird pic to show the color more accurately. It wasn't as bright as in the first pic.

Another scheduled post. I'm probably snuggling with some cats when this is posted :>

Another little road trip.

Hellu!
This is a scheduled post (if all goes well) since I'm visiting my sister for a couple of days :) Me and the bf had a nice little vacation weekend and I wanted to show you some pics. The trip was made to get an old chair from my grand mom and we also visited my sister (another one lol) and the bf's grand mom on the way back. We had a great time! :) Pics are taken by me or the bf. I'll schedule this for the swedish national day and you can see this as a commercial for my country ;)

The weather changed a lot during the trip. Here's some sweet-o weather! :)

When we arrived at my sister's we got a really nice dinner! Yey food :>

Pretty landscape taken from the car.

On our way back home we stopped at Taberg, an old mine in a big mountain. An old house from the mining days?

This was a fallen tree that was "allowed" to stay down to be the home of animals and such.

Look at all that green!

At the top of the mountain. Beautiful view!

And if you're still thinking "meh I probably won't visit Sweden" here's a pic from our last stop on the way home. One of the many places where you can buy candy along the big road lol.

That was one pic heavy post 8) Have you had any fun adventures lately?

Purple creme.

Hellu!
Here's another of the polishes that I got.

Two coats of Gabrini - M 110. This bottle had a wonky brush but the formula was nice like the previous one so it was still okay. It's a nice medium purple creme :)

Here's the polish in action together with a Piggelin (the ice cream) and China Glaze - 108 Degrees on my toes. Summer!
